Whittemore features local artist’s work

Sunday, September 9, 2012

NAUGATUCK — The Whittemore Library is featuring the artwork of artist Louis Marcoux throughout the month.

Marcoux, a local artist and library patron, is a self-taught artist who learned how to paint in oils by regularly checking out art books from the Whittemore collection. In addition, he has attended workshops in order that he might better understand composition as it relates to movement and light. Many of Marcoux’s paintings feature marine subjects and they reflect his love of and affinity for sailing and nautical themes.

This month’s exhibit can be viewed during regular library hours.  For more information, call the library at (203) 729-4591.
