NAUGATUCK — The Whittemore Library is featuring the artwork of Gregory Karas throughout the month.

Karas is a board member of the Valley Arts Council as well as a member of the Connecticut Society of Plein Air Painters and the Easton Arts Council. He attended Paier College of Art in Hamden and graduated in 1983. Currently, Karas works as a commercial artist at the New York Graphics Society and he teaches at the Bob Boroski School of Art in Shelton.

This month’s exhibit includes a number of landscapes and flora and fauna done in oils,

acrylics, and pastels. “Greg’s empathy towards his subject whether it be people, animals or the natural world became apparent early on. … He eagerly explores the shores, rivers, and woodlands seeking truth with the same energy and curiosity as when he was a child,” a release issued by the library stated.

The exhibit is on display on the Whittemore Gallery Wall and can be viewed during regular library hours. For more information, call (203) 729-4591.
