Historical society hosting talk on black bears

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Historical Society will host a talk on black bears Sunday.

Felicia Ortner, a master wildlife conservationist and bear enthusiast, will speak on many aspects of bears. She will dispel some of the myths associated with bears, provide natural history information, and talk about some of the results of the black bear research conducted by wildlife biologists in the state.

The event is free for historical society members, $2 for non-members, and $5 for families. The event begins at 1 p.m. at the Naugatuck Historical Society Museum, 195 Water St. For more information, call (203) 729-9039 or e-mail naugatuckhistory@sbcglobal.net.
