NAUGATUCK — A woman who flipped her car over in a driveway leading to the Oak Terrace senior housing complex Thursday on Conrad Street was hospitalized but did not appear seriously injured, Fire Chief Ken Hanks said.

The woman was behind the wheel of a Geo Prizm coming down the driveway near Building 23 at about 2:30 p.m., Hanks said. For reasons unknown, the car went up an embankment and rolled over into the road, coming to rest on its roof, Hanks said.

Firefighters had to stabilize the car to keep it from rocking and remove the woman through a rear window, Hanks said. They extricated the woman in minutes and Sibby’s Automotive towed the car from the scene. Police did not identify the woman Thursday.
