BEACON FALLS — A recount of the results of last week’s referendum on road repairs produced the same outcome — it failed by one vote, according to the town clerk’s office.

By one vote, residents on Thursday rejected borrowing $10 million to fix many deteriorating roads in town over the next 10 years. The vote remained 201-200 against, according to the town clerk’s office.

More than 20 streets are listed in priority under a 10-year road improvement program that also includes road and infrastructure improvements such as replacing sewers.
