NAUGATUCK — Police arrested two men on charges they snatched a woman’s wallet last Saturday night outside Stop & Shop, police said.

Shortly after 8 p.m., police said, the woman was walking in the parking lot of the supermarket at 727 Rubber Ave. toward her car and holding her wallet.

Police said, Joseph Noreikis, 30, of 14 Eustis St., Oakville, came from behind the woman and grabbed onto her wallet.

Police said the woman struggled with Noreikis and suffered a cut lip before Noreikis took the wallet and fled in a red 2011 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Brian Lukosevage, 33, of 15 Pythian St., Watertown.

A witness provided the license plate number, and Waterbury police spotted the pickup on Huntingdon Avenue, police said. Waterbury police arrested the men and turned them over to borough police for processing. The woman’s property was returned to her, Deeley said.

Police charged both men with second-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy. Noreikis was also charged with third-degree assault.
