November 3 at the monthly meeting of the Historic Preservation Council – CT Commission on Culture & Tourism, the Tracy Lewis House was officially selected and approved to be placed on the State Register of Historic Places.  The nomination package presented by myself, received unanimous support from the Historic Register sub-committee that reviewed the property and had a letter in support from the President of the Beacon Falls Historic Society.  Also speaking in support was the Director of the CT Trust for Historic Preservation, also stating that the house may deserve additional recognition, implying the National Historic Register.  The CT Trust gave a $5,000 matching grant to the Town to study the adaptive reuse of the house.

The Historic Preservation Council voted unanimously to place the property on the State Register.  An official letter acknowledging the placement will be delivered to the Town of Beacon Falls within the next 2 weeks.
