NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck YMCA is holding registration for the Race4Chase Kid’s Triathlon program.

The program is a free, six-week training program for children ages 6 to 12. It’s designed to provide children with a safe, non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon.

Race4Chase was founded by Rebecca and Stephen Kowalski’s CMAK (Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski) Foundation, which celebrates the life of Chase Kowalski. Kowalski was one of the students killed during the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

“We are so proud to be able to provide the free Race4Chase program at our YMCA. This six-week training program will be able to provide an active summer experience to kids of any and all economic backgrounds as well as provide them with the tools to live a healthy lifestyle,” YMCA CEO Susan Talbot said in a press release.

The program starts on June 26. The deadline to register is April 17. For more information or to register, visit the YMCA at 284 Church St. or naugatuckymca.org/race-4-chase-youth-triathlon-program.
