NAUGATUCK — Julie Carol Sonntag Lillibridge, 75, of Naugatuck, the beloved wife of Edward L. Lillibridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Abbott Terrace Healthcare Center, Waterbury, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born in Waterbury, on Sept. 7, 1941, the daughter of the late Karl and Merle Gedney Sonntag. She graduated for Stoneleigh Prospect Hill Class of 1959. She received her bachelor’s degree from Elmira College of New York. Julie was formerly employed as an administrative assistant at Laurel Heights Hospital of Shelton, and later she was an ombudsman working for the state of Connecticut.

Julie was a former member of Order of The Eastern Star and Order of Amanaranth. She loved to play the organ, keyboard and piano. Julie was an avid square dancer and was a member of The Oxbow Square Dance Club of Oxford. She will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.

Her loving family includes her brother, Frederick Sonntag and his wife, Irma, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and her two nephews, Dr. Markus Sonntag and his wife, Dr. Amy Wrennick, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Dr. Christopher Sonntag and his wife, Cassandra, of Gainesville, Fla.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Julie’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Route 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour, with The Reverend Elizabeth Leggett, Chaplain of The Athena Hospice of Connecticut, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Memorial gifts in Julie’s memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, through the funeral home.
