Day of the duck

About 5,000 people came to downtown Naugatuck June 1 for the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce’s 9th annual Duck Day and Race. The annual event featured vendors, food, live music and a costume contest. The highlight of the day was the annual duck race, in which thousands of rubber ducks were dumped from the Whittemore Bridge into the Naugatuck River.
