Naugatuck High School senior Rachel Fox, a girl scout with Troop 64188, completed her Gold Award project at the Naugatuck Day Care recently. Fox constructed and set up a garden, complete with soil and vegetable plants, with the help of the Naugatuck Garden Club. The family of the late Robert Paolino pose for a picture May 17 after a ceremony dedicating the meadow at Gunntown Passive Park and Nature Preserve to Paolino. Paolino, who served as Naugatuck mayor from 1991 to 1995, helped the borough acquire the land that would ultimately become the nature preserve. The Naugatuck Parks and Recreation Commission dedicated the meadow as well as the field at Linden Park and the Fawn Meadow Field to former mayor Joan Taf and the late Paul Bendler Sr. respectively. –CONTRIBUTED
