The Naugatuck Fire Department recognized the winners of the 8th annual Connecticut Fire Prevention Poster Contest Feb. 20 at fire headquarters. The contest was open to all Naugatuck students in fourth and fifth grade. The top three winners in both grades received bicycles, which were donated by Walmart. COMM_Klondike

Boy Scout Troop 102, of Naugatuck, recently participated in the Klondike Derby held at Camp Mattatuck in Plymouth, where the troop received a fourth-place trophy in the senior patrol division. The annual event mimics the Klondike gold rush, and is intended to test the scouts’ outdoor skills, leadership and teamwork as they earn “gold nuggets” at various stations throughout the woods.
