The award is given to USA Martial Arts students who earn honor roll status at their respective school. Hopkinson is a sophomore at Woodland Regional High School and the son of Mark and Wendy Hopkinson of Beacon Falls. -CONTRIBUTED Jayden’s Journey to Research was held Aug. 10 at Hotchkiss Park in Prospect. The event was a 5K to raise money for and awareness about chromosome disorders. Patricia Culos, right, of Farmington was hired as assistant vice president, commercial credit manager. A graduate from the University of Connecticut Graduate School of Business, Culos most recently worked at Webster Bank as assistant vice president, restructure and recovery operations. Patrick Kelley of Newtown, center, was hired by the bank’s commercial loan department as vice president, commercial lending/special projects officer. Kelley formerly was vice president of commercial lending at Newtown Savings Bank. He received a bachelor of science in finance and Spanish from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. He is a graduate of the Stonier National Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. Karen Battaglino of Beacon Falls, left, was promoted to vice president, operations manager. Battaglino has worked at the bank for 16 years advancing from employee to supervisor to manager. -CONTRIBUTED Mr. and Mrs. Robert Genovese of Naugatuck recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows followed by a reception given by their children at the Continental Room in Naugatuck. Mr. and Mrs. Genovese were married July 27, 1963 at Sembach Air Base, Sembach /Pfalz, Germany. They have three children, Anthony Genovese of Naugatuck, Michael Genovese of Milford, and Michelle Brown of Beacon Falls, and five grandchildren.
