Letter: Supporting the Cable-Bielik team

To the editor,

I was born and raised in Beacon Falls in a family that proudly claims Beacon Falls as their home for several generations. I have a long view of Susan Cable’s contributions to our town. Susan embraces our hometown values and also sees beyond our borders to work with our state and neighboring towns.

When Susan first took office we did not have even one business in our industrial park. The park is now near capacity because of her willingness to work with businesses. Her “Won’t take no for an answer” attitude got our Depot Street Bridge renovated and repainted. She did this through countless trips to Hartford to secure the OKs for this project and by getting over $3 million in state and federal grants to save this vital link to the Murtha Warehouse Park on Railroad Avenue while keeping taxes down for us.

What is important to know is that Susan has the willingness to listen to our concerns and works to get things done for us folks as demonstrated during our last hurricane.

Party affiliations are not as important to Susan and her talented running mate for selectman Chris Bielik, both value and understand the needs and views of the residents. They will always be looking for fresh ideas from people, such as Lou DiPiro for Board of Finance and Art Daigle for town treasurer, both former Republicans.

Along with new comers, Carolyn McMahon for Board of Assessment Appeals, Arlene Brumer and Eric Dey for the Library Board, Susan also has several long-time residents on the slate of candidates with her; Millie Jurzynski is running for reelection as tax collector and William Giglio for reelection to the Zoning Board of Appeals along with Priscilla Cretella and Wendy Doiron Oliveira for reelection to the Regional Board of Education.

I would like to thank Susan for her long years of service to Beacon Falls by supporting the entire Cable-Bielik team.
